\nFounded in 2016, the Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, located in western Uganda. Bugoma Forest is a vital biodiversity hotspot, home to chimpanzees, over 570 species of birds, and other endangered wildlife. The forest also plays a crucial role in climate regulation and supports the livelihoods of many surrounding communities.<\/p>\n
\nACBF combines community involvement, sustainable livelihoods, and direct forest protection initiatives to achieve long-term conservation impact. Some of their key programs include:<\/p>\n
\nEvery 5 Acres Reforestation Program:<\/strong> A grassroots initiative that enables individuals and organizations to sponsor the restoration of degraded forest land.
\nSustainable Livelihood Projects:<\/strong> Including beekeeping, eco-stove training, and agroforestry, aimed at reducing pressure on forest resources while improving local incomes.
\nConservation Education:<\/strong> Raising awareness through school clubs, village meetings, and digital platforms to build a culture of conservation among youth and communities.<\/p>\n
\nOur partnership with ACBF is rooted in shared values\u2014conservation, community, and sustainability. ESTOA supports and promotes eco-tourism initiatives that align with environmental protection, and Bugoma Forest offers a perfect platform for responsible travel experiences. Through this partnership, ESTOA members can:<\/p>\n
\nCollaborate on voluntourism and educational trips, involving travelers in tree planting, wildlife monitoring, and cultural exchange.
\nParticipate in conservation storytelling, helping spread the message of Bugoma\u2019s importance through guest experiences, blogs, and media.<\/p>\n
